The Weekly Wrap – Greenback Bonazna


What a sensational week it has been for Ballarat trainers!
Firstly, Joe Borg taking out the Group 2 TAB Great Chase, as we spoke about last week.

Then on Friday, Rosalyn Hume with Aussie Infrared taking out the first heat of the Geelong Gold Cup in a very nice 25.73, drawing box 3 again for the final.

Then on Saturday night, Trent Blacker took out the Mark Duclos & Dave Carlson maiden final Saturday night with his kennel star Greenback Boogie. This son of Barcia Bale made it 2 from 2, shoving his way through on the first turn to gain the lead and rest was history.

Congratulations to Trent, his team and all connections.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd to top the weekend off, Peter Gavin and his rising star, Shantui made it 2 from 2 on Sunday, making his way into the GRV Vic Bred Maiden final to be run Shootout night on Thursday.

HEATS & FINALS

We’ve got a busy night tonight with 8, 450mtr Maiden heats. There are some royally bred greyhounds debuting tonight with some high expectation which will make for some great viewing.

Heat 1 - Jet Hawk’s dam is the sister to star chaser Phenomenal. Perceptives dam Veetee Express won 22 of 53.

Heat 2 - Rover Bale’s dam was the staying champion Irma Bale.

Heat 3 - Oiranye Bale’s dam was a group one winner and placed.

Heat 4 - Shima Raindow’s dam produced the Group winner Shima Song.

Heat 5 - Sabjorn Bale’s dam was multiple city winner, Flawless Bling is out of the famous Lady Bling.

Heat 6 - Red Rocket Sox’s dam was place 36 of 51.

Heat 7 - Aston Jesse’s dam produced the speedy Aston Sloan & promising Aston upton.

Heat 8 - Lorenzo Blue’s dam is from the family of, Shared Bonus, Shared Equity, Deville and Sure As and of course Miata.

As ive touched on, this weeks been a huge week for Ballarat trainers 4 feature wins and 11 other winners.

Trainer of the week this week is a dead heat! Skipton veterans, Kevin & Wendy Miller had a top week with 1 winner and 1 placing with only a kennel of 4. The dead heater was Trent Blacker, getting his first winner the week before and now his first city winner.
