The Weekly Warp – Mininera Magic

What a week in greyhound racing!

Thursday night we had the box draw for the Shootout to be run tomorrow night and what a spectacle that will be!

Friday was the Geelong Cup, which was taken out in brilliant style by the Andrea Dailly trained, Shima Song.

Then on Monday night at The Meadows we had the running Group 1 Hume cup and the Group 3 Silver Bullet.

The all conquering Jason Thompson kennel with his speedster, Aston Bolero pinged from the pink box to claim the Group 3 Silver Bullet and the new kid on the block, Fanta Bale, made light work of box 6 and leading the entire way to take out the big one, The Group 1 Hume Cup for trainer Robert Britton.

One of our local trainer’s is starting to gain momentum from her newly acquired training base. Deb Carr has recently moved her training to a town outside Ballarat called, Mininera.

Deb has a small but quality team of 7 race dogs, along with pups on there way through.

Iconic Rock, with a record of 36 starts, 9 wins 12 seconds a 2 thirds and a electric box speed is the kennel fav but she has great satisfaction in getting the unwanted Miss Moto back in the winners circle as a rising 4 y.o

The kennels defiantly gaining momentum with 2 winners this week and several placings in weeks gone by and we at the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club wish Deb the very best with her new training base and runner in the future.
