The Weekly Wrap – Deano’s Gadget

Last night I had the privilege of riding shot gun with team Brennan as they geared up for there assault on the Warrnambool Cup Final. It was a great honour to be apart of the excitement, the build up and sitting with the owners on there cup table.

The boys (who own Deano’s Gadget) knew they were up against it with odd of $101 being offered but they didn’t let that deter them as it was a huge thrill just to make the final. Speaking with them at the table they couldn’t believe the turn around she’s made since joining the Brennan kennel and pointed out that she had 13 starts with them for 5 wins 3 seconds and 1 third and $21,700 worth of prize money. It was that time and the big race had come so we all went out to get our vantage point, Bang the lids flew open and so did Zambora Brockie with Deano hot on his heels before Aston Bolero and To the Galos loomed up on her inside and outside and crowed her and collied and checked her out the back but to her credit she picked herself up to run and finish 7th running a time of 25.39 beaten 6.7 Lengths. The boys were wrapped with her performance and cant wait to see her go round again. Talking to Daryl on the way home he said that they havnt planned anything with her but just see how she pulls up and go from there.

LOCAL RESULTS

The locals keep on pumping out the results. 8 winners and 27 placings around the state.

We had a ripper day at Horsham with 2 Winners and 3 placing from the 6 dogs entered at the meeting.

Also at home on Monday in the all maiden meeting we had 2 Winners and 7 placings.

So it comes time and again it was tough finding trainer of the week but Ive settled on Gary Peach, i know you probly thinking ive been a bit rugged on Deb Carr who had another 2 winners but Gary had a first a second and a third this week and considering he only had the 4 dogs racing I think that’s a not a bad effort. Onya Peachy!

Other winners were:

Molly Chapta broke her maiden at Ballarat for Team Hansen in 26.02

Take that Banksy is absolutely for David Taylor at Ballarat in 22.20

Secret Choice for Deb Carr at Geelong in 22.71
