The Weekly Wrap – Warrnambool bound

Hello hello what an exciting week of racing! Warrnambool cup heats, along with the classic semi’s, all leading into next Wednesdays finals night. Ballarat will have representation in the Group 2 Warrnambool Cup in Deano’s Gadget. A fairly new addition to the Brennan camp, Deano’s Gadget has gone from strength to strength with multiple city wins and now a country cup finalist, best of luck to all involved.

In other racing news, GRV raised $12,000 for the ANZAC appeal last week with Ballarat contributing 5 Red rug winners. Mondays T3 meeting was our last week for the “Hoop arm” trial, all feedback is encouraged & welcomed to pass on back to GRV.

HEATS AND FINALS

No heats last week but we had a rippa Grade 5 450mtr final. It was a funny old race that changed completion rounding the home bend.

The race was taken out by the Reserve, Cosmic Tate, a greyhound that’s always had alot of ability but plagued with injury.

LOCAL RESULTS

The locals continue to rack up winners and placings throughout the week. We had a total 12 winners and 33, yes you read right 33 place getters.

The locals were dominant on the home turf on Monday with only 1 winner and 10 placings but an all Ballarat trained trifector.

The Wendy Miller owned and trained Two Mississippi went straight to the front and was never headed breaking her maiden with David Taylor trained Take fright running on into 2nd place and Geoff Bumpstead trained Alyssa’s Girl holding on for 3rd. Just so you know the Tri only paid $60.

Selecting a Trainer of the week is a tough gig this week with a number of top efforts but im going to give it to Deb Carr. Deb had a double at Geelong on Friday night and with her small team I reckon thats a top effort.
