The Thursday wrap

WELCOME TO THE THURSDAY WRAP

WEEKLY RACING WRAP -  Its that time again & with the racing week over there were some good racing and highlights and 1 that left us scratching our heads.

We had 2 Blue dogs win this week, that takes our total to 7 thus far #gothebluedog

Monday - The son of Spring Gun, Tango and Cash went straight to the front and ran 31.39 on what was a slow/wet track & looks as if he could go on with it over the longer trips.

Tango and Cash’s strong win.

Wednesday -  Wednesday night seen the running of 4 Maiden (bitches) heats. The Kelly Bravo trained Noakis Girl ran the quickest of the 4 heats in 22.29, but the locally owned Cape Cruiser recorded the quickest first split in 8.40 and went on to run a handy 22.33. Trainer Joe Borg explained the dog was coming off a month between runs and needed the run. He will be hard to beat in the final.

Cape Cruisers heat win.

The much anticipated return of Champion Exhibit was the highlight of the night, but left us scratching our heads. The Darren Murray trained Greyhound jumped with the field, mustered down the back straight to be 2nd outside the leader and look to be in a dominating position. He then crossed to the rail rounding the turn, pushed up underneath the leader and then seemed to wobble around the home turn to then balance up and run away to win in 25.68.

The head scratching part is in the dog’s previous starts he was devastating once balanced up and in front winning by a minimum 10 lengths.

He had also been trialling the house down in best of the day trials by a many lengths leading up to his return showing that he had not lost a thing.

Lets hope the champ was just a little race rusty and the run brings him on and he jumps out of the ground next start.

Champion Exhibit’s return.

The Locals Wrap - The locals have once again had a good week, winning 11 races combined.

Daryl & Colin Brennan train rolls on with 4 winners.

Alf King, Brian Hodgson, Garry White, Peter Griffen & Robert Proctor all were among the winners as well and with plenty more to come no doubt there will be more to report on next wrap.

Ones to keep your eye on:

Warrnambool 24th

-R2 #2 Fabulous Mac for Darren Murray. The brother of the mighty Champion Exhibit was luckless in his first start.

-R7 #7 Ad’s Boy for Daryl Brennan. Has some good ability but very green and seems well drawn.

Bendigo 25th

-R1 #4 Despedida for Verity Cotton. Huge run last start and sure to be in the finish again.

-R3 #2 Bush Caviar for Ivan Chircop. This quirky bloke has untapped amount of ability but also has an untapped bag of tricks.

Futures -  Monday is an all maiden day and sure to produce something worth while keeping an eye on for the future.

Wednesday night there are 660mtr heats with a 2k bonus for winning the final which should make for some great chasing.
