The Ballarat GRC would like to advise all members that long serving Track Manager Rob Phillips has retired effective COB Thursday 6th August 2020.The BGRC is disappointed that the pandemic has prevented us from hosting an appropriate farewell function for Rob at this time, as it is only fitting that his outstanding service & contribution to the club over 20+ years is recognised.
The Ballarat GRC Committee, Staff and members pay tribute to Rob’s commitment, dedication and the professional level of service he provided to the club over such an extended period. We are also aware of the high regard that many Trainers and industry participants did hold Rob in, not just for his efforts and tireless work, but also for his quite and engaging manner and his willingness to always lend a hand. The Ballarat GRC will now commence the difficult job of advertising for someone to fill the “very big shoes” Rob does leave behind.
It is our hope that once the current crisis is over and strict rules on social distancing and gatherings are relaxed that we can still host an appropriate function to thank Rob for his service.
We also wish Rob and his wife Kathleen all the very best for the future, as they – post COVID-19 – plan to hit the road and see much of our beautiful country.
Again, we thank Rob for his outstanding service to the Ballarat GRC and its members over such a lengthy period.
