The Weekly Wrap – Qualies are back

Hello and welcome along to the weekly wrap, apologises for last weeks absence we have been super busy!

As the heading imply’s the qualies are back this week but under a new structure. Instead of rolling up anywhere between 8am and 9am paying your 5 bucks and racing in 5 dog fields its now more like a mini race meeting.

All participants are required to were there white shirt and black pants, Kennelling opens at 8.15 and close at 9.00am and the first Heat is at 9.30am.

We will be trying to run them continuously but as the stewards will need to do reports and vet dogs and what not there will be some time in between heats.

As this may take some time we will not be trialling after the last qualie heat.

Also we are installing an irrigation system in our parade ring area thus meaning it is out of action for a few weeks. We have set up a temporary parading area in the mean time.

HEATS AND FINALS

Last week we had the running of the Grade 7 390mtr final. The Dallas Massina trained Bakali took out the feature in a slick 22.07 bringing up win 3 from his 7th start. Dynamic Couldron was as brave as ever pinging the lids and leading until the home turn and holding on for 2nd, Soul Stripper ran a creditable race back in third and seems to be improving with ever start.

We also conducted 4 GRV Vic Bred heats over our famous 450mtrs start.

Heat 1 was taken out by the son of Nitro Burst, Macroy in a nice 25.50 from box 8 and Dr. Leonardo in second coming from well back finishing off nicely.

Heat 2 went to Mepunga Ted railing up down the back to aviod the carnage and finish off strongly over the top of the weakening leader to record 25.77, Audacious Sprite got going again after being checked several times down the back to run inn to 2nd.

Heat 3 went the way of Last Action Hero in the last hop! sticking to the rail like he was glued and got up the inside to grab the win in 25.67 defeating the game Mahogany Saphire who lead everywhere except the post.

Heat 4 The final heat was the fastest by a long way. The ultra consistent Kilty Express with his customary box speed flew straight to the front and was never headed zipping around the circuit in 25.32. Connemara Black, the second of the Jarleth Maye runners and Litter brother to the first heat winner battled on well to stay within 2 Lengths of the winner but was no match and had to settle for second.

Review: If Kilty Express turns up this week he wins! Macroy is ideally drawn with slow beginers drawn either side and Audacious Sprite looks to get a nice run from the pink.
