Hello, Hello yes winter has decided to come along and stay for a little bit, so pull out the thermals and gum boots and hold ya hat!

There’s alot going on here at BGRC and its hard to keep up, We’ve got ourself some new toys for the track, you’ll see us walking the track mid race meeting testing with the penetrometer and in coming weeks a moisture meter. These are just tests and collecting data at present to help us in the future.

Also you’ll see some works being done in the parade ring, We are installing an irrigation system for the summer months to keep it beautiful and green. Please be aware of corded off areas.

HEATS AND FINALS

Last Wednesday we conducted 4 Maiden heats over the famous 450mtr start. It produced some very nice runs and sets up what looks to be a very competitive final tonight.
Heat 1 - Was taken out by the Team Collins trained Eppy Bale in 25.87 jumping cleanly from box 5 landing in 3rd up the back before taking over the lead into the back straight and holding off the game Very Venom who battled on well into second.

Heat 2 - Was taken out by another Team Collins trained dog in Dyan Edgar. He saluted in a easy 12L victory clocking 25.62. Battling on well for second was Fab’s Fury who was servilely check heading into the first turn and shuffled way back but still managed to finish off.

Heat 3 - The Team Collins juggernaut continued in the third heat with Bell Bale (littler brother to Eppy Bale) winning as he liked after missing the start but then recovering to clock a time of 26.13. Sally’s Treasure ran on late into second but was no match for the winner.

Heat 4 - The fastest heat, was taken out by Team Dailly’s, Oscorp Bale in a slick 25.52. After jumping with them he quickly put paid to the leads, railing up and exploding away with a strong win. Super Smarty the initial leader stuck on well to hold on for second.

In review: It looks a very competitive final but with the scratching it brings the field size down to 6 but with the speed drawn in 2,4,5&6 there will be a charge to the first turn. Dyna Edgar should hold the rails, Super Smarty on his outside and most likely 3 deep will be Oscorp Bale. Bell Bale will be right on their hammer. Dyna Edgar an Super Smarty will be fighting it out at the end it’ll come down to who-ever has the better run.

We are also conducting 4x 390mtr Grade 7 heats that have some exciting entry’s like Dynamic Couldron, Ocean Bay, Bakali and Moment In Time.
