HEATS AND FINALS

We had the running of our 2 Vic Bred Semi Finals that sets up to bed a ripping final worth a cool 7 and a half Gorillas to the winner.

Lets have a look at them:

Semi Final 1 Won by the impressive Matt Machine in a slick 25.32 but didnt have the early toe to lead. Ocean Bay (local hope) shot to the front early running 6.65 to the first peg and 25.57 overall, a length and a quarter improvement on his heat win.

Dynamic Couldron (local hope) got out well and almost poked the nose in-front of ocean bay down the back but just couldn’t do enough to cross, he then kept 3 deep when Matt Machine pushed through and held on for 3rd improving 4.5 lengths on his heat win.

Semi Final 2 Well Argyle Lucifer did exactly what he did in his heat and brained them, pinging from box 4 running 6.62 and 25.47, a whopping 5.5 length improvement on his heat win. The unlucky Hone In dwelt at the start costing him vital room hge needed to zip through, he then was caught up in a scrimmage with the rest of the field but still managed to fly home to grab second. Receptive just has had zero luck in her goes here, the little girl Jumped midfield, went to make her run and the field come down on her and checked out wide and backwards. she kept coming and rounded up the bulk of the field to get into 3rd.

Verdict: We hope its Ocean Bay and Dynamic Couldron fighting it out for the locals but there seems to be some serious speed and it’ll a fight to lead. Receptive looks well drawn in the pink and should get a clear run with Argyle Lucifer drawn next to her and i think can run over the top of them all.

Carmichael/Howell Memorial Heats

As we spoke about in the intro we had our Carmichael/Howell Memorial heats last week over the 545mtr. They produced some sensational racing and we are in for a treat with the running of the final tonight.

Heat 1 Local hope Why Not Sue lead from box 1 but soon after Evers Bale took over and was never headed running 31.11. Why Not Sue in second going 31.20 and the ultra consistent Bronco De Jurer running third in 31.26

Heat 2 was the quickest of the heats with Dyna Irminus absolutely scorching around in 30.85 with a blistering first split of 6.62, Astrology getting home nicely from back in the field to run second in 31.13 and Hang In There running third in 31.27.

Heat 3 The final heat was taken out by Shima Song after landing second she quickly took over down the back and recorded a time of 31.14, The fast finishing It’s a Bird absolutely flew to nab second in 31.25.

Verdict: If Dyna Irminus jumps like he did in the heats nothing will catch him! Its a Bird looks well drawn out in 6 (if you can say 6 is well drawn?) if he can lob somewhere near them he will sprout wings in the straight.
