The Weekly Wrap – Trainer Stats

Welcome along to the weekly wrap. This weeks wrap we’ll be going through some numbers on trainer stats both locals and Ballarat track in general, also we’ll talk about the major revamp we had done on Friday the 11th and as usual go through the weeks racing and identify some great runs and some hard luck storys.

MONDAY

Mondays card wasn’t our usual run of the mill Tier 3 meeting, it was replaced with a full stakes meet instead and didn’t disappoint.

We started the day off with a couple of maidens then  a couple of mixed 6/7′s then into the Grade 5′s and mixed 4/5′s.

In the first, a maiden 450mtr a greyhound by the name of Aeroplane Tommy was sent out the short priced fav but again bombed the kick and was last out and having to circle the field and finding one better. The day this dog jumps with the field there is no doubt he’ll salute in easy fashion and break his maiden.

Race 9 seen a unbelievable run from the Andrew Stewart trained Slick Ice. On a track that had been full renovated the previous Friday and other mixed 4/5′s running 25.70′s, the aptly named son of Cosmic Rumble was indeed slick, making light work of box 6 leading all the way clocking a blistering 25.25

WEDNESDAY

With temperatures in the 30′s during the day it was going to make for a great nights racing. Our features for the night were the, 390 Vic Bred 1-4 wins final and the final of the 450mtr Vic bred final.

The 390mtr Final saw Macey Blue make it 3 on end giving nothing else a chance pinging straight the front going 8.26 & saluting in 22.07. One dog worth following out of the race was the unlucky Mighty Sam, he jumped a little slow and then was servilely hampered at the first turn and check out to near last spotting the leader the best part of 12L, he railed hard to power home for 3rd, defiantly 1 to keep your eye on.

The 450mtr Final was taken out by the short priced fav in American Warrior. It was as easy as it sounds for favourite punters with hot pot only evenly away then copping a bump soon after dropping him out to a clear last, but to his credit he balanced up and exploded down the back out deep on the track to sweep around the field and take the lead in to the turn and then continue to power away with the race in a comfortable 25.36. A very exciting young dog to follow.
