We also picked up an extra meeting due to Warrnbambool show day. The Thursday meeting was a full stakes meeting and provided some cracking racing.

THURSDAY-

Our pick up meeting on Thursday turned out to be a cracka. We had a mixed grade 3/4 and a couple of 4/5 that provided some great viewing.

Team Bravo took out bragging rights for the day with 3 dogs entered for 2 winners and a third.

MONDAY-

Mondays meet was a 300+ point ranking meeting and as to be expected a very competitive days racing.
Chrisy Stanton trained Demtel made light work of box 5 over the 390mtr start to power home in the best of the day in 22.30.

The son of Spring Gun has shown in previous starts he has plenty of early toe at box rise, running those times with that box speed connections will be having some fun with him.

WEDNESDAY-

Wednesday night was just a taste of things to come here at Ballarat with cup heats in coming weeks. Not even the rain could dampen the outstanding nights racing. We had 2 lots of “to the city” heats, the 390mtr final and the gruelling 660mtr final.

The 660mtr “to the city” heat went to the Jeff Britton trained Dublin Bull

The first of the 450mtr “to the city” heat went to Maximum Mak going back to back after winning Thursday.

Heat 2 went to the Abela trained Blue Rocket in 25.86

The final heat was taken out by the hard finishing, American Monster stringing together 3 wins on the trot in 25.64

The features of the night were the 2 finals. The 660mtr Final was run in very testing conditions, with rain teeming down. Get up Dinozzo for Bradley Burns toughed it out to get the cash taking over the lead in the home straight.

The 390mtr Final was a hotly contested race with all dogs pretty evenly matched and the track being effected by rain. There was defiantly some hard luck stories after the bunching group approached the first turn with several dogs checking off each other, but yep, you guessed it, the Team Brennan trained Uptown Funk with her early speed kept out the speedy Might sprite, who was going for 9 on end and kept out of any trouble and was strong on the line to bring it home for the local boys!
