The Weekly Wrap – Cup only weeks away


The countdown and the madness has begun!
The 2016 Energis Ballarat Cup organising is well underway. The track was deeply harrowed last Friday in preparation for it to be spot on for cup night, The radio advertising has made its way to onto the airways, the bookings for entertainment are happening its building to be an absolute cracker.

With confirmation of Zambora Brockie and Aston Bolero both heading towards the cup and that 50k country cups bonus, its already looking to be a star studded heats night.

 

HEATS & FINALS

We’ve got 2 Grade 7, 450mtr heats on tonight that look very competitive. Plus the two Maiden qualie finals.

450mtr Qualie Final - Ebby Chance should just lead and win. Crackerjack Jake seems a strong type.

390mtr Qualie Final – if Lonnie Magic reproduces his qualie run he’ll win by a country mile but has since failed. Maximum Babe should lead and can hold on.

 

The two Grade 7 heats are full of promising greyhounds and looks very competitive affair.

Heat 1 – Mimosa has top form heading into this, with placings in fast time. Heartbreak Hotel won on debut in 22.54 here then second at Geelong at his second start.\

Heat 2 – Bombora Cyclone has a blistering 22.19 win on debut her then won at sale in 25.50 and looks hard to beat. Myrniong Floyd boast placings to Raw Ability.

Throw in some mixed 4/5 events and it all makes for a greats nights racing!

LOCAL RESULTS

The locals had week that could have been! still managing 9 winners for the week we had a whopping 26 place getters!

All honours go to a small kennel in Haddon and Rob Weightman. Only a 2 dog kennel and saluted with 2 winners.

Silverdust at Ballarat in 22.10 and Lethal Gun at Geelong in 22.66. sensational effort.
