The $108,000 Energis Ballarat Cup (450m) was run on December 4 with a huge crowd turning out to catch a glimpse of the mighty Fernando Bale in action.
However, the eight-time Group 1 champion, who was the $1.10 favourite, was upstaged by Shared Equity, who snatched a $75,000 first prize with a brilliant front-running performance.
