The Weekly Wrap – Cup Heat Preview

It that glorious time of the year again and although Cup night is our big main glamour night, Cup heat night is the best nights racing in you’ll see.

8 class filled heats that may even throw up a few surprises.

In today’s edition of the wrap i’ll be going through each heat nutting out how the races will be run and won.

Heat 1 - Your Shout Punk, looks your leader of the race from box 2 and i should probably stop there. Recent runs at Geelong clocking 25.66 and 23.76 at Bendigo i cant see him getting beaten. Diego Bale has drawn ideally and has a P.B on 25.04 which can see him win and Promises Kept is a big talent but the pink im not sure of?

Heat 2 - Zinzan Brooke will likely lead from Box 4 , To the galo’s is ideally drawn in Box 7 to scoot across, Kong from box 5 needs 1 or 2 steps then explode’s.

Zinzan Brooke has a scintillating 23.50 run at Bendigo recently and looks very hard to beat, Mystery Ride grows a leg from Box 1. Kong looks and exciting talent but hit and miss at the start.

Heat 3 - Aussie Infrared looks your leader although uses a little bit of the track should lead, Jack Walker from the pink should come across to be prominent and Shima Song will also be punching up from box 3.

Shimma Song, recent Geelong cup winner in a brilliant 25.39 looks very hard to hold out, Jack Walker had a P.B of 25.25 and 3 wins and 2 placings from 5 goes here and Aussie Infrared has home track knowledge.

Heat 4 - Zambora Brockie should find the lead and prove panels to good. Lightning Frank has a tone of ability but is hit and miss at the boxes. Local hope, Major Curly is drawn ideally and has a stack of box speed.

Heat 5 - Hot speed drawn across the track in boxes 1,2,7,8. Barton Bale is the class dog in the race and a recent 25.48 Geelong run has him up to his eyeballs in this, Tiggerlong Cruz can use box 1 to be right up there and has a big motor. Bear’s Gold will fly the lids and be there for a long way.

Heat 6 - Aston Bolero looks the leader with boxes 6,7 and 8 being tardy out. He has 5 wins here from 6 starts and a P.B of 25.25. Tuggeragh has some good box speed and looks a place hope.

Heat 7 - Kilty Express, although his form isn’t as flash as it used to be, he can lead this field and hold on for a place from Box 6. Weekend Binge on his day will leave these for dead with a repeat of the 25.17 run at Shep he would. Matt Machine is very strong and will  be charging late.

Heat 8 - Judicial Man will lead and just win. His recent 21.76 over there 390mtrs here and a P.B of 25.19 is panels better than the rest. Marley Bale is well drawn in Box 7 and is unbeaten here.

Myrniong Corner is a big talent but is tardy early but can power home into a place.
