Kenny to Fly at Ballarat

THURSDAY night racing at Ballarat is set to deliver as it does each and every week, with fields of talented chasers on show.

The punting here kicks off in race number one, with the Brooke Ennis trained Aeroplane Kenny looking to be the pick of the field out of box number two. Kicking off his career at Sandown, he displayed his devastating ability to run on – running a swift 29.96 behind Call Me Gee two weeks ago. Replay A drop in class from city racing here may provide him with the leverage that he needs to record his first victory.

Moving onto the seventh of the night, the punting is set to get very tough – with a field offering a number of choices to punters. Coming off an impressive second placing last week Replay, Kibosh (5) has serious claims. His sectionals were impressive and his time of 25.42sec is more than quick enough to get the job done here this evening – so a repeat showing may be good enough for him to salute here. Mepunga Nick (5) and Gary Groundwork (3) will provide genuine competition for placings, but Kibosh has enough about him to shoot and score.

Race eight is equally as difficult in terms of selecting a potential winner, but I can’t look past the quality of Noonbarra Joe from the outside draw– following a big win from the same box here last week. Repayments (4) has claims after a drop in class, but he is awkwardly drawn and may find it difficult here if Noonbarra Joe can use the outside draw effectively. Murangi Choice (1) also races well from the inside – but Noonbarra Joe may be just a little quick and his track familiarity will only hold him in good stead. Noonbarra Joe’s dominant win last week.

Noonbarra Joe scores a dominant win last week.
